Agrisys Organizes a Successful camp for Organic Cultivation
Agrisys conducted a camp in village Khurda ,8 km from Manpur at Agra-Bombay Road (AB road) in district Indore on 30th January 2011-Sunday.
Camp was conducted with an objective of creating awareness about low cost cultivation in this tribal area. Camp was co sponsored by Janvikas Kendra,Village Palda, Mahatma Gandhi School, Khurda and Sankalp-Rotary Club of Indore.
Appx. 250 farmers attended the programme including 70 women farmers.Programme and sessions were so convincing to farmers that 33 farmers offered their piece of land by way of free registration for organic cultivation under the guidance of Agrisys.
Agrisys will now train these farmers and other farmers on various low-cost cultivation technologies.
Agrisys founder Avnindra Shrivastava told the farmers about the need and success stories of organic cultivation by audio-video means. Agrisys patron Dr. Anant Oza took session on Biogas and alternate sources of Energy.
Veteran Scientist Dr W R Deshpande told the farmers about nitty-gritty of organic farming. Dr. Deshpande has served the nation for more than 37 years at various levels and he has been instrumental in setting up KVKs, member of new agriculture policy committee of MP and member of working group formed by Planning Commision for Organic and Biodynamic farming for X plan document.
Mr. S M Sharma, an internationally recognized watershed expert consultant and president of Sankalp briefed about water consumption by agriculture sector. Mr Sharma also declared that Sankalp will sponsor the watershed management activities for one village as Pilot project in continuation to work with Agrisys for beteerment of farmers of Khurda and nearby villages.
Agrisys also put forth the concept of protected cultivation in smaller areas as size of land holding is smaller in this geography, farmers took keen interest for Green House and mulching initiative of Agrisys.
Representatives of Agrisys’ Collabaorting agencies for Green house and Mulching were also present in the programme and shared their vision and knowledge about the same.
Agrisys participated in Semiar titled Packaging for Soyabean products and other traditional products -organised by IIP at Hotel Radisson ,Indore on 18th April 2011.
Agrisys marked it's presence in seminar on scope of Polypropylene organised by Plastpack Forum at Hotel Fortune Landmark,Indore .Agriculture was identified as potential sector which will be using PP.
